What is the Doconda editor plugin?
A React component (@doconda/editor) that adds a Word, PowerPoint and Excel editor to your web app. It opens, edits and saves the file in your user's browser, and the result is still a normal DOCX, PPTX or XLSX.
Does the document go through Doconda's servers?
No. The file is opened, edited and saved in the browser; you get the bytes with save() or in onSave. The only thing the editor asks Doconda for is a licence grant for your domain, without sending the document.
What happens to what the user doesn't touch?
It is saved as is: styles, charts, notes, comments and the parts of the file the editor cannot edit are not lost.
How is it purchased and what does it include?
Per organization, separately from the API, with a monthly, yearly or one-time plan that you choose in your dashboard. It includes Word, PowerPoint and Excel, unlimited documents and users, and up to 5 domains with their subdomains. The monthly and yearly plans start with a 7-day free trial and can be cancelled at any time.
Can I try it before paying?
Yes. On localhost it always works, without a licence, with a development licence notice. You buy it when you publish it on your domain.
Do I need the Doconda API to use it?
No: it opens any Office file, from a link or from memory. Together they make a complete flow: your agent creates the document with the API and your user polishes it with the plugin.
Can I adapt it to my product?
Yes: you choose which buttons appear and in what order, add your own actions, change colours, fonts and language, turn parts off, use read-only mode, and get change notifications and autosave.
