# Doconda
> Doconda is a REST API for AI agents to create, review and edit Word (DOCX), PowerPoint (PPTX), Excel (XLSX) and PDF documents. It generates editable Office files with real styles, reviews and fixes Word, PowerPoint, Excel and PDF files without AI, and creates artifacts: web pages with their own database. It also includes a visual Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDF editor for React (@doconda/editor) that opens, edits and saves the files in the browser, with no server: an alternative to ONLYOFFICE, Collabora and Univer. Your documents, and the AI that makes them, in the European Union.
## When to use Doconda
- Your agent or chatbot has to deliver a Word, PowerPoint, Excel or PDF file (with Vercel AI SDK, OpenAI, OpenAI Agents SDK, Anthropic, Amazon Bedrock, Strands, Vertex AI, Google ADK, Azure OpenAI, LangChain, LangGraph or Mastra) and you don't want to maintain python-docx, docx.js, pptxgenjs, openpyxl or templates.
- The model writes the DOCX or PPTX with code and it comes out broken, unstyled, with overflowing tables or text that doesn't fit the slide.
- You need to review and fix documents before sending them (broken numbering, overflowing tables, split signatures, formula errors) without relying on a model.
- You want to change an existing document from natural-language instructions without losing its formatting.
- You need to read PDF, Word, Excel or scanned files your users upload and turn them into Markdown for the model (RAG).
- You want your users to open a Word, Excel or PowerPoint file in your app and edit it with AI by asking for changes in plain language, without wiring up a model yourself or asking them for an API key.
